MILITARY ADVISING & TRAINING
As this is our full time job we are commited to bring history alive and accurately in any production and at any
stage.
SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT
Our Military Advising team can help your
production right from the script stage.
Having an understanding, not only about
military aspects but film structure, we
can give you notes on your script.
It's a great way to give the military/history
parts in your script a polished and realistic
feel.
Some aspects we have helped script
development:
Military dialogue.
Realistic Squad/Section commands.
Historic Notes.
Realistic Battle Notes.
We can then stage a "Boot Camp" for your actors. Our
team are trained on many periods and know that
today's military drill/combat tactics are not right, for
example WW2 Kokoda or vise-versa.
Training your actors in the period your film is
portraying is important and our job is to GET IT
RIGHT. This assists the actors to have empathy for the
era and helps your project have that authentic edge.
For smaller productions we can even reduce the
training to a weekend or a day and just teach the bare
requirments to the actors.
PRE-PRODUCTION: BOOTCAMP
PRODUCTION
Having a military advising team on-set, can greatly increase the look and
feel of your production. At Sparkefilms History Design, we start with
research.
Having a vast library consisting of over 2000 books, we dive deep into your
subject matter to leave no stone unturned. We know that one photo, from
one book, is not good enough to base the entire production design on. By no
means are we 'one book specialists'. And if we don't exactly know....we'll go
find out.
Once production has started our team can be there to make sure
background extras behave in the right manner and historic aspects are true
to the period.
When all is said and done, your production can have the authentic look that
SparkeFilms History Design is known for - Australia's Number #1 military
history film support.
Our team are ready to work on ANY production so Email Us now.
" Dear Ian,
Well what can we say? You and your
boys were a hit with the public and
media alike.
The impressive way that you and your
team enthusiastically bring to life the
colour, character and humour of the
Aussie Digger is truly great to witness.
The constant interaction and platoon
level training between the men and a
good Sgt is great to see and experience.
The quality and accuracy of the gear
and equipment is also truly impressive
and it’s no wonder the film industry taps
into this experience in the way that it
does.
We will be absolutely delighted to have
you and your team involved in any such
undertaking in the future. It was
wonderful to have you involved and the
public reaction was awesome.
Many thanks,
Talan Miller

ACTORS AS TRAINED FILM SOLDIERS
We now have a number of well trained, disciplined and professional actors
who are trained "film soldiers" & can help put that air of authenticity in
your production.
They have been cast in many productions such as the entire cast for the
History Channel's productions of "The battle of Long Tan" & "For Valour",
the 'core film soldiers' for "Beneath Hill 60", spent months on HBO's "The
Pacific" & 2005's Miramax production "The Great Raid" as well as many,
many others.
This is a great way to outfit historic re-creations in documentaries or help
train main actors and extras in feature films. When you hire our Film
Soldier team, you will be provided with actual actors who are trained in
military tactics, weapons and drill etc. and can be hired in any era and time
period.
The 'soldiers' are used to wearing any uniform, walking the way the
ANZAC's did, talking the way American Rangers did. They know it so well
on one production we could portraying Redcoats and the next week be in
Tobruk or Korea. Many have had military service and all are trained with
weapons.
